Satisfy your comfort food cravings at Key Snacks, where owner Janet has been winning over generations of customers with her “famous” sausage meat and egg sandwiches and cuppas made with fresh tea leaves for more than 40 years.

As one of Trinity Market’s longest-serving traders, Janet has seen her regular customers grow up, and bring their own children into the market for a taste of Key Snacks’ hot and cold sandwiches, full breakfasts, snacks, cakes, scones and drinks. She started as a Saturday girl, and eventually bought the business. The secret to the best-selling sausage meat and egg sandwiches, she says, is that the sausage meat is made especially for Key Snacks’ customers at a wholesalers in Hedon Road, Hull. “We try to do our best for our customers,” she says. “Some of them become friends. It’s the old-fashioned way.”
