Tapasya Kitchen

Get a taste for authentic contemporary Indian street food at Tapasya Kitchen in Trinity Market.

Tapasya Kitchen is led by the same team as the award-winning Tapasya restaurant on Hull’s Marina, which specialises in Indian dishes with a fine dining twist. It also picked up Visit Hull and East Yorkshire’s Remarkable Restaurant award in 2019 so, as you might expect, Tapasya’s street food offering is pretty special, too.

The lunchtime menu typically includes: kathi naan bread rolls filled with roasted chicken tikka, lamb sheek, paneer tikka, or fish amritsari; vegetable or chicken biryani; and curries such as classic “Old Delhi style” murgh (chicken) tikka butter masala, lamb rogan josh, with paneer makhana, channa masala and tadka dal.

There’s masala fries, naan bread and rice; plus side dishes such as onion bhaji, Punjabi samosas and chowk ki aloo tikka – potato and pea patties with chickpea masala, yogurt, tamarind sauce and coriander.

For dessert, there’s gulab jamun or ice cream, and there’s also a large range of drinks that includes mango, sweet and salted lassis.

Currently open Monday to Friday, 11am-2.30pm with pickup and delivery available. Regular opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 10am-4pm. Call to check.
